Federal Supreme Court of Brasilia, Brazil

PSOL is appealing against 2 Confaz clauses that reduce the basis for calculating pesticide taxes and allow states and the Federal District to grant the same reduction in domestic operations involving pesticides, which have the effect of stimulating their intensive consumption at the expense of the fundamental rights to health and a healthy environment. 4 civil society organizations or networks, Terra de Direitos, Campanha Nacional Permanente Contra os Agrotóxicos, Associação Brasileira de Agroecologia (ABA) et Fian Brasil, as well as São Paulo State Public Defender's Office, have been accepted as amici curiae. Judgment that should have taken place on February 19, 2020, has been postponed.
