Federal Court of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia

This class action is brought by around 800 Australians who have been diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma and allege that their exposure to and/or use of Roundup products is the cause. On April 26, 2023, the Federal Court issued orders regarding the structure and timing of the trial. The trial began in September 2023 and will last 9 weeks. During this period, the Court will have to determine whether glyphosate, the active ingredient in Roundup, is carcinogenic to humans and can cause non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. If it accepts this conclusion, it will then have to determine whether the manufacturers were negligent in addressing the risks posed by their products.
