NGOs claim that Monsanto, BfR and EFSA have committed scientific fraud with regard to the risks of glyphosate. Although the glyphosate studies commissioned by Monsanto are known for their blatant scientific fraud and falsification, BfR accepted them in Monsanto's application for renewal of the authorisation without subjecting them to a thorough review and gave a favourable opinion on the application. EFSA accepted the BfR's conclusions and announced that it did not consider the classification and labelling of glyphosate as a carcinogen to be appropriate, in contradiction with the results of the available studies.
