Superior Court of the state of California for the County of Alameda of Oakland, United States

Many of the cases against Monsanto (in October 2018, 252 cases) brought in California state courts were consolidated into the Roundup Judicial Council Coordination Proceedings, chaired by Judge Ioana Petrou. An expedited trial has been requested for Alva and Alberta Pilliod (RG17862702), a couple of septuagenarians both suffering from non-Hodgkin's lymphoma after years of use of Roundup. The trial began on 28/3/2019. On 13/5/2019, Monsanto was ordered to pay $2 billion in compensatory and punitive damages to the Pilliod couple. Another motion for trial preference for Donnetta Stephens (CGC-20-585764) is granted in December 2020 and the case set for trial on July 19, 2021, in San Bernardino County Superior Court. In the meantime, another plaintiff, Patricia Whitcher (CGC-20-585697) has deceased on Jan. 4th, 2021.
