The applicants want to revoke a ban on three toxic pesticides, glyphosate, chlorpyrifos and paraquat, because farmers have to sell their stocks back to the manufacturers at low prices and take responsibility for transportation costs. Therefore, this measure will have an important economic impact. On October 28, 2019, the plaintiffs petitioned for the annulation of the ban. On November 1, 2019, the central administrative court threw out the petition. The group appeals to the Supreme Court. On May15, 2020, the Supreme Administrative Court agreed with the lower court decision on the grounds that the ban which is beginning on June 1, has yet to take effect, therefore the decision had not caused damage to anyone, meaning that the group was not eligible to file a petition. On June 11, the group makes a 2nd attempt and files a petition with the Central Administrative Court, seeking an injunction to allow the use of agrochemicals banned by the National Hazardous Substances Committee (NHSC), citing the need for the substances to deal with weeds during the planting season.
