Exposed for two years to pesticides and welding residues without adequate protection in his work in Arrozal 33, forger de los Santos suffers from hypersensitivity pneumonitis caused by "exposure to pesticides, chemicals and organic dust". He carries a disability of 87.91%. As a result of the complaint filed late 2017, the Labor Court of Montevideo concludes that "based on the analyzed evidence, there were acts and omissions of the company that imply non-compliance with safety and prevention standards," which determines that "there is responsibility in this regard" and orders the company to pay Julio de los Santos 2 million pesos for non-pecuniary damages and 200,000 pesos for consequential damages. On Sept. 30, 2021, Arrozal 33 files an appeal against the decision.
