On June 15, 2023, the Tours Correctional Court sentenced an individual for selling synthetic pesticides to private individuals, which has been banned in France since January 1, 2019, under Labbé Law no. 2014-110 of February 6, 2014 aimed at better regulating the use of phytosanitary products on national territory, amended in 2015 by the Energy Transition Law for Green Growth no. 2015-992. In total, he is said to have sold more than 9,000 liters of complete glyphosate-based formulations. The NGO Générations Futures, which filed a civil suit, estimates that nearly 3,700 hectares of plots would have been contaminated by the use of the products that were sold.

The trafficker was sentenced to 12 months' imprisonment with an arrest warrant, as he left for Thailand before his trial, a fine of 10,000 euros, confiscation of the sums seized (around 22,894 euros) and a 5-year ban on managing a company. The judgment will be published at his own expense in La France Agricole magazine and on the E Bay website.

Finally, Générations Futures will receive 4,000 euros for moral prejudice.
