Name of the Court : ?, European Union Jurisdiction level : No description Summary : In a letter sent on November 30, 2023, three NGOs (Criigen, APE and Collectif des maires anti-pesticides) represented by attorney Corinne Lepage, asked the President of the European Commission to reverse her decision to renew the authorization of glyphosate in Europe for a further 10 years, as the NGOS consider it contrary to the precautionary principle. If this request, based on the Aarhus Convention, does not succeed, the NGOs will refer the matter to the European courts. In particular, the NGOs are calling for the renewal decision to be re-examined in the light of the numerous scientific studies demonstrating the link between exposure to glyphosate and the occurrence of various pathologies (Parkinson's disease, non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, etc.), as well as the harmful effect of this substance on the environment and biological diversity. According to the latter, EFSA did not take into account all available studies when assessing the risks. Scientific references : No scientifice reference for this case.
