They also allege that Monsanto was well aware of the risks of the active ingredient in its herbicides, glyphosate, but hid the risks from consumers, failing to warn them despite scientific evidence showing the cancer-causing potential of the products. Monsanto denies its products cause cancer. It will be the first trial to take place in the company’s former hometown (Saint Louis, Missouri), with jury selection set to start on March 24, 2022. But Monsanto is being granted an "emergency" delay of two weeks. Trial was set to begin on Monday, April 11, 2022, but plaintiffs in the case have agreed a few days before to accept a settlement offer from Bayer.
